For non NZrs, the titles are place names in te Reo Māori, the indigenous language of Aotearoa New Zealand. Pāuatahanui is an inlet near Porirua, north of Wellington, near where I lived when my children were born. Titirangi Maunga is Mt Atkinson, the hill behind the house I grew up in and the highest point on the Auckland isthmus. Maungakieie is Mt Eden, a hill in central Auckland. I lived there in my mid and late 20s. It's the site of one of the largest pre-European towns. Aramoana is a small, desolate and beautiful coastal township near Dunedin, at the south of te Wai Pounamu, the South Island, the city I lived in from 2001 to 2008.
